including Vogue, Instyle and more. We speak with Gayle about her greatest achievements in her field,
how she manages her full time style consultancy with her family and her key style advice.
What do you consider to be your greatest achievement?
This may sound like a cliché but it has to be my three daughters who inspire me every day. My youngest is seven and never ceases to amaze me with her zest for life and constant joy in everything she does. Nothing makes me happier than seeing them all laughing.

WHO IS YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION AND WHY?
I am constantly being inspired by women breaking boundaries. Whether it’s reading
about Amelia Earhart to my daughter or listening to Michelle Obama talk
about her life, strong women are truly inspiring.
HOW DID YOU FIRST GET INTO FASHION AND STYLING?
I read an article in Look magazine when I was 15 which documented a day in the life of a fashion editor.
I tore that page out, stuck it to my bedroom wall and went on a mission. I did a lot of work experience
and made a lot of tea, sat in fashion cupboards and offered my services for free. I did three months at
Cosmopolitan and three months at the Daily Mail and got offered a job at the Mail
after the assistant left. That was my very first full-time job and I loved it.
We were shooting three times a week and I was in my element.
WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING THING ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?

YOU HAVE TWINS! HOW DO YOU JUGGLE YOUR WORK AND HOME LIFE?
I have three girls and I am grateful every day for having a very supportive husband and a great network
of friends who I can call upon for help with the kids. I also have a full time assistant who is integral
to the smooth running of my work life and an after school nanny who is equally integral to the smooth running
of my family life. I try really hard to switch off all devices in the evening and focus on my home life.
The kids phones are also switched off in the evening to ensure we get some quality
time together and more importantly communicate.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PART ABOUT BEING A MOTHER?
Just watching them grow and explore the world around them is the best thing about being a mother.
Guiding them and encouraging them but not forcing them to do interesting things. They have
taught me to be more patient, empathetic, kind and rational! Seeing the wonder of the world
through their eyes is constantly inspiring and the joy they bring is endless.
Oh and the cuddles!

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR STYLE INSPIRATION FROM?
My style and inspiration comes via so many avenues. Someone like Iris Apfel is just beyond incredible
in the way she puts outfits together, Jenna Lyons is effortlessly quirky with her style, JLo is just fabulous in every
single way, Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw was a massive style icon
for me when I started working in the fashion industry.
What is your favourite piece in the Beulah AW19 collection?
Without a doubt, the Indira micro floral green dress, it has all the bohemian touches that I love.
Gorgeous billowy sleeves, velvet trimmings and a lovely floral print

How do you celebrate women in your life?
Having three daughters means I am championing women all the time, bringing them up and telling stories
of strong powerful women. My grandmother was the matriarch of our family and was a force
to be reckoned with and taught me that you need a good work ethic and respect.
I am trying to pass this on to my girls.
What do you do to feel empowered?
I am generally a very positive person, I see the good in most things and take time out for
myself which is really important. I practice yoga and find this a really good way
to de-stress and step out of the madness of what I do.
That in turn makes me feel empowered as I am the one in control.

What particularly inspires you about Beulah's social impact mission?
There are so few companies that really get to the heart of the issues in the world. I absolutely love Beulah’s social impact mission. The fact that they are creating so many opportunities for women who would otherwise be forgotten is incredible.
