Patricia Parisienne – #MyWeekInBeulah

This week’s #MyWeekInBeulah features the lovely Patricia Parisienne who is a California girl with Mexican heritage living abroad, previously in Paris, now in London.  For her #MyWeekInBeulah she chose her favourite Beulah looks and wore them while wandering around the fabulously Scottish   Boisdale of Belgravia  restaurant.

You mentioned that  you have some  exciting news to share…!

Yes! My husband John and I are expecting our first baby in April, hence the baby bump in the photos!

Also, I will be launching my official YouTube channel before the end of the year, which I am so excited about! My first video will be an interview and demo with an amazing makeup artist who has an eponymous line of incredible products. I can’t wait to show you!

Finally, I am the new social media consultant for an incredible company called Simply Elaborate! I am so excited to grow my business as a social media consultant for small businesses and entrepreneurs. On the heels of this new posting, I will also be launching an Instagram course. So many things to be excited for!

Who is your biggest inspiration and why?

My biggest inspiration is my mom. She always found ways to put us in the best schools, programs, and activities. She would inquire about scholarships, volunteer opportunities – she wouldn’t take no for an answer! I love that quality about her. My siblings and I participated in so many activities, thanks to her incessant desire and vision for what she wanted us to experience and develop. Despite things that have happened in her life, she remains the most positive, driven, and in-love-with-life person I have ever known. I strive to be even half the woman and mother that she is.

What are your aspirations as a businesswoman for the next five years/for the future?

I absolutely LOVE this question! Short answer: I have so many aspirations! The three things I most want to develop are my social media consulting business, blogging, and music management business.

I am working to grow the consultancy business and would love to work with brands, companies, small businesses, and entrepreneurs around the world to help maximize their online presence by developing their brand, focusing their strategy and increasing their engagement with their audience. Help create better communication. In turn, developing their businesses and helping them achieve even more success.

As a blogger, I want to continue to grow and develop my readership and brand. I absolutely adore my followers and want to continue to provide them with valuable and fun content. I would love to give back and show them just how much I appreciate them by hosting giveaways and hopefully some fun events for them in the future. I’d also love to develop partnerships with tourism boards and share these travels/destinations with my readers. It would be a dream to give away a trip to my readers! I want to continue to work with and collaborate with inspiring and passionate brands and companies. A dream of mine would be to launch a capsule collection with a paper company like Rifle Paper Company and design my own line of notebooks, stationary, and pencil bags (they’re my secret obsessions!).

Finally, in terms of my music management business, I would love for the classical pianist that I manage, Alexander Kato-Willis, to become a household name. He’s currently the only pianist in the world that tours with an entirely improvised program in the classical style. Alexander is an absolute genius; I’ve never met anyone more intelligent and talented than him. When he plays, you find yourself completely lost in your thoughts and imagination. It’s almost an out-of-body experience. The best way to describe it is to quote one of the members of his most recent London recital, Peter Abernethy, “At times, I felt like there was a presence in the room. It would build up, then cascade down. [It was] a series of amazing journeys.”

You can learn more about him and his upcoming recital dates and locations on his site, or by following him via social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).

What is your favourite flower?

My favourite flowers are a tie between roses and calla lilies. I love roses because they’re absolutely exquisite and classic flowers, plus my last name means roses in Spanish.

My parents are both Mexican, and growing up, we always had a Diego Rivera print in the house. One of my favorite Mexican artists, Rivera features calla lilies in many of his paintings. I love how he integrates them into his portrayal of Mexican life and landscapes.

What is your favourite Beulah piece (current collection)?

I am obsessed with the blue Serena fluttering wings dress that I wore in this shoot, as well as the Martha Fluttering Wings top in Evergreen and the matching Ivy Fluttering Wings skirt. I didn’t want to take them off!

The materials are gorgeous to the touch and make you feel impossibly chic, putting an extra swing in your hips. I love that clothing can inspire such confidence, and Beulah does that so well with its beautifully crafted pieces and impeccable eye for design. You can’t help but feel special when you are wearing Beulah. You go from ordinary to extraordinary in Beulah clothes.

Where does your inspiration come from?

My inspiration comes from so many places! I would say that my surroundings have a big impact. I’m currently in Japan for the first time, where I’m finding creative inspiration everywhere I turn! The pride and drive the Japanese have in their work is inspiring.

When I lived in Paris, I co-authored My Paris Story, a book of inspirational stories of twenty-six women living in Paris. Reading and taking in the incredible journeys of my fellow authors was so motivating – tales of success through adversity. It is amazing how people take different journeys to the same place. I really enjoyed being involved in this project and would love to participate in something similar in the future.

Also, I am very inspired by my husband. John is the most supportive partner I could have ever dreamed of. He inspires me, motivates me, and encourages me. I feel blessed to have found a man like him that inspires me every day to be better, to be the best person I can be.

What do you think of what Beulah stands for and the work it does through the Beulah Trust?

I find Beulah to be a very commendable company. I admire the Beulah Trust for empowering women and providing them with jobs and skills that will help them for the rest of their lives. This support helps them to succeed, instilling confidence in them that hopefully will be passed onto their own daughters and children. Women should help women. I’m so glad that Beulah is an example in this and is so open and vocal about the work the Beulah Trust does in protecting and employing victims of sex trafficking.

What is your favourite accessory? One that makes you feel glamorous and instantly regardless of the rest of your outfit.

Ooh, this is a tough choice! I will have to say my rings: my wedding ring because my wedding band is engraved with our initials and wedding date, which was one of the best days of my life, and my engagement ring because I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ring than the one John designed for me! I think they’re beautiful and classic, the best accessories I could ever ask for.

What is your favourite thing about (and spot in) London?

What I love the most about London is its energy. London is fast-paced, dynamic, and alive. Such amazing things have happened to me in this city. People that live here are passionate, creative, and are so open to collaboration. I love that!

My favourite spot in London to have a glamorous coffee is at Claridge’s. I sat next to Ralph Fiennes the last time I was there and couldn’t stop ‘fangirling’. My favourite place to just go and see beautiful things is Fortnum & Mason. I’m like a kid in a candy shop there! No detail is overlooked throughout the whole of the company, from the staff to the products, and there is always something new to admire. For a great view of the city and a little peace, I love Primrose Hill. The neighbourhood is so cute.

What is your favourite quote or mantra?

You can do it.”  For me, fear is the biggest obstacle and the greatest factor in my not pursuing something. This simple phrase helps remind me that I can, in fact, do it, even if I am afraid. It reminds me that I am capable, and I am here to learn and improve myself, so even if I’m afraid, I should push through it. It’s a good little motor for when you get stuck in your head.
