Jo Renwick – My Week In Beulah – Day 1

This week through this series of our My Week In Beulah blog we will focus on what to wear in 2016 to epitomize elegance. Today Jo is wearing ‘Ava’ flower spirits blush blouse styled with leather trousers.

Jo tells us about her belief, taste, and style.

Who is your biggest inspiration and why?

So many amazing people inspire me, we hear of amazing stories every day of strong people fighting against the odds or standing up for what they believe in. For me, my every day inspiration comes from my family. We’re a big family (I have one brother, four sisters, three nephews and three nieces!) and live all around the world living totally different lives yet we are an amazing support unit! They’re all constantly inspiring me in different ways, to love life be strong and trust in your own beliefs.

What is your favourite quote?

“Above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.” Roald Dahl

I love that even in the most unlikely places you can still be so struck by the beauty and wonder of the world, I like to think that’s what magic really is!

What is your favourite flower?

Hibiscus. My childhood was spent in Grenada surrounded by these beautiful bright flowers.

How would you describe your style?

Elegantly casual? Does that even work?! I’d always prefer to dress up than down! Unless I’m in my gym kit of course. I like to be comfortable in what I’m wearing, I’m not much of a risk taker when it comes to style.

What is your favourite Beulah piece/look?

I can’t get enough of the white shirt. It looks and feels so wonderful, I’d wear mine with black jeans and heels in the evening, or a cute skirt in the day!

How would you describe your home interior?

Homely! I always have flowers and candles.

What do you think of what Beulah stands for and the work it does through the Beulah Trust?

I’ve followed the brand since it’s early days having shot one of their first look books. The brand has grown more beautiful each season but what has always been inspiring is the girl’s passion for what they stand for. Human trafficking is a big problem in the sex trade. It’s unbelievable for it to still be happening when slavery was abolished so long ago. The Beulah Trust helps victims of this in India by giving them the skills they need to find alternative livelihoods and start a sustainable life.

What is your favourite accessory?

I never take off my Bvlgari & Save The Children ring. I loved it when I saw it because of the great campaign to help raise money and awareness for the charity. My boyfriend bought it for me so it’s really sentimental too!

What is your favourite piece of jewellery you own?

As above! I don’t wear a lot of jewellery, but the few items I do wear are very close to my heart. A ring from my Mum, bracelet from my Dad.

What is your favourite thing about/place in London?

My Dad is an architect so I think I’ve always been brought up to appreciate and respect the beauty in architecture everywhere I go. I’ve been lucky enough to travel to many cities but London has to be one of the most beautiful places in the world! The buildings almost breath the incredible heritage. I’ve gotten into running recently and it is the best way to soak it all in… and work up a sweat at the same time!

My all time favourite place probably has to be The Wolseley. Although at the moment you’ll probably most often find me at South Kensington Club at the gym or in the Watsu pool, or next door eating pasta and singing Italian songs at Iddu!
